Executive Director
Jimmy Gisi, CPRP, joined GRPA as Executive Director on August 13, 2007. Prior to that he served for 10 years as the Director of the Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department. Before his tenure with Cobb County, he was the Leisure Services Director for the Camden County Public Service Authority for 8 years. He also served as the Recreation Director for Alma-Bacon County for one year.
He has completed all three years of the NRPA Revenue Sources Management School, the Recreation Facility Design and Management School, and served as an instructor for the NRPA Executive Development Program in Athens, GA for 5 years.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from The University of Georgia and a Masters in Public Administration from the Valdosta State University.
He is a past president of GRPA ('06) and has served the association in many capacities over the past 23 years. |

Shelly Strickland, joined GRPA as Office Manager on February 9, 1999. She graduated from Newton County High School in 1988 and holds an Associates Degree in Business from Dekalb College. |
